CANDLE CARE
1. Trim your wick to 1/4" before lighting. This allows the candle to burn evenly and minimizes soot, ensuring a cleaner and longer-lasting burn.
2. Allow the wax to melt across the entire surface. By setting the tone for your candle, this prevents your candle from tunneling, where wax is left on the sides. If tunneling does occur, the heat from subsequent burns (especially around the halfway point) should melt the unused wax.
1. Trim your wick before lighting. Keeping the wick at 1/4" prevents it from pulling too much wax, which can lead to excess soot, an uneven burn, or an oversized flame.
2. Recenter your wick as needed. Wicks may shift during a burn. After extinguishing the flame, gently reposition the wick to the center. This avoids soot buildup on the glass and reduces the risk of cracking your vessel.
1. Don't leave your candle burning all day. Extended burns can cause the wick to "mushroom" (the black residue at the tip), releasing soot into the air and increasing the flame size, which may pose a fire hazard.
As a general rule, burn your candle for about 1 hour for every inch of its width. For example:
• 2-inch-wide candle should burn for approximately 2-3 hours.
• 3-inch-wide candle should burn for about 3-4 hours.
2. Stay away from drafts and never leave your burning candle unattended. Drafts can cause uneven burning and soot buildup, while leaving a candle unattended poses a significant fire risk. Always ensure safety while enjoying your candle!
